Ez a kis program a Földön koordinátáival megadott két pont felszínen mért közelítő távolságát határozza meg. Az eredmény pontatlan, mivel feltételezi, hogy a Föld gömb alakú. A program a számításhoz az egyenlítői (6378 km, azaz 3963 mérföld) és a sarki sugarat (6357 km, azaz 3950 mérföld) használja. Az egyenlítői adja a legfeljebb, a sarki a legalább értéket. Az adatbevitelnél meg kell adni, hogy melyik félgömbön van a pont. A sorok első mezőjében a negatív előjelet is helyesen értelmezi a program (egyébként a fok mellett minden használt perc és másodperc mezőbe is kellene mínuszt tenni). A koordináták háromféle formátumban is megadhatók: fok; fok és perc; fok, perc és másodperc. Tizedesvesszőnek vesszőt és pontot is lehet használni (pl. 47° 12.458' vagy 47° 12,458'). A négy koordináta formátuma nem kell megegyezzen. |This tiny program computes the approximate distance between two points on the surface of Earth given their coordinates. The result is not accurate because the method used assumes that the Earth is spherical. The equatorial (6378 kilometres, or 3963 miles) and the polar radius (6357 kilometres, or 3950 miles) are used for the computation. The equatorial gives the 'not more than' and the polar gives the 'at least' value. When entering a coordinate, the corresponding hemisphere has to be chosen. A negative sign in the first field of each row is also correctly interpreted (otherwise you need to use a minus sign in all respective degree, minute and second fields). One can choose between three different formats for entering a coordinate: degrees; degrees & minutes; degrees, minutes & seconds. For decimal point a single dot or a comma can both be used (e.g. 47° 12.458' or 47° 12,458'). Input formats of the four different coordinates do not need to be the same.
